Types of tile
 Glazed tiles are perfect for conservatories and reception rooms, not suitable for outdoor and heavy traffic floor areas. Glazed floor tiles come in a large variety of sizes with a vast choice of colors and effects. Glazed ceramics are the obvious choice for walls in bathrooms, kitchens and laundry areas. Glazed wall tiles are available plain and decorated.
Porcelain tiles are extremely attractive and very hard-wearing. They can be wall or floor tiles, as well as for the inside and the outside.
Mosaics are very useful for walls that have lots of electric sockets or changes in height. They are in small pieces of ceramic or glass usually sold in sheets on a mesh backing for ease of fixing.
Terracotta tiles are made from natural clay but because of the lower temperatures they are fired at. They vary in water absorbency and are perfect for interiors.
Quarry tiles are the traditional farmhouse floor tiles and give that lovely rustic feel. They are made from natural clay and some are frost resistant. Their natural clay surface gives good slip resistance, they are easy to clean and are almost maintenance free.
